Scones
Ingredients
225g Self Raising Flour40g Softened unsalted butter
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
2.5 tablespoons Caster Sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
150ml milk
Method
Preheat Oven to 225Sieve the flour in to a bowl and rub the butter in with your fingertips until it makes "breadcrumbs"
Add the Baking Powder, salt and caster sugar and using a knife mix together.
Add the milk a little at a time and mix to a dough
Turn out to a floured board and roll to about 1/2 inch thick
Turn half the dough onto itself and lightly roll to about a inch thickness. This will create a easy break about halfway up the scone
Take a 1" cutter and cut out scones
Once you have cut as many as you can roll again and again cut. You should be able to get around 6 scones
Place onto a baking tray greased with butter and dust the top with flour
Place in the oven towards the top and cook for 10 minutes
Remove to a wire tray to cool and serve with Clotted Cream and Jam
